Mallacoota is situated on the north eastern tip of victoria and is an extremely popular tourist destination. every year 1000's of campers flock to 'coota' to christmas holidays. the majority of people camp at the main caravan park which you can see in the image.
the river mouth in this photo is open which is not always the case so the flow of water in and out of the mouth with the tides means and abundance of sea life. standing on the edge of the mouth itself you will often see small dolphins and seals that live in the upstream parts of the river.
mallacoota has had it tough, in jan 2020 it saw devastating fires ravage the area and burn huge parts of the surrounding bush. the local fire brigade which are mainly volunteers did an amazing job to save the town which and as such the campers returned for the 2021 season.
obviously this photo would be great for anyone that has stayed at the 'coota' caravan park.
